Adventure in Peru

A few pictures of our latest adventure. Starting with one of us at the beginning of the Inca Trail.

moving on to a picture of day 1 when we all looked relatively 'fresh'

Day 2 was hard work. 8 hours of continuous climbing, narrow passages and ice cold heights to get to dead woman's pass (4200 meters high)

were we had magnicifent views from above the clouds. Like being in a plane but without the window.

But day 3 was bad; 3000 steep steps down, and I mean steep!

To finally arrive on day 4 at Machu Pichu - the lost city.
All in a bid to raise money for Dove House Hospice. So far we've made £29.000 and we are hoping to keep going till christmas.

our new car

well, it was a tough decision, but the Wrangler had to go. With only 15 miles to the gallon it was getting a bit too expensive. To ease the pain we swapped it for a bit of fun

Update

Time for a new post. After all it has been 5 months! We have had a quiet winter with long nights in front of the fire. The fireplace has since given in and we desperately need to replace it before next winter. However, spring has arrived and so we have moved outside. The vegetable plot is weeded. The beans, lettuce, beetroot and cabbage are planted and we have added 6 new chickens to our lifestock. 2 sussex bantams which were donated to us, 2 blue rangers and 2 calder rangers (the latter of which were sold to us as black rocks!). None of them are laying as yet, but the excitement of eagerly awating the first new eggs.

We only have two dogs now. Forest has found a loving home with a friend of a friend and now even has his own tartan coat. Shadow and Butch are happier and more relaxed. Forest was a sweetheart, but could be very demanding in his fight for attention. He now gets all the attention he craves and he too is happier.

We will put some new photos on soon. Some of the chickens and some of our new neighbours.
